We are assigned a chapter from Alice In Wonderland and from there we are required to design the space to recreate the experiences that are described in the chapter. My partner, Flora and I were assigned Chapter 5 which was about how Alice is put through an uncomfortable experience with a series of drastic size and height changes. Alice expressed discomfort and confusion throughout the chapter and that was the experience we had to recreate. We played with variating ceiling heights and levels within the space.

This is how my partner and I studied the chapter to focus on the different experiences that we want to recreate.

This shows the initial stages of planning how we can recreate the journey Alice had.

This shows the rendered elevation and section of the space.

This is in our initial stage of planning how we can imitate the experience of shrinking in size like Alice did with the use of increasing wall heights.

This is another initial stage of the stairs. This was a mistake due to the fact that the walls of variating height did not have any meaning to it.

The variating track sizes are to imitate the experience of the sudden increase of space from shrinking small.

This is to imitate the experience of growing bigger. We did this by decreasing the ceiling height and increasing the floor level to create a tight and squeezy space.

The void is present to prevent the user from using other methods to get to the next stage of the journey.

This is the ramp placed over the void without the ceiling of the ramp. The path the user has to take has sudden turns to imitate the experience of being unprepared and scared due to the sudden burst of growth in different areas of Alice's body. The turns help to make the journey of this path seem longer.

This helps to imitate the experience of being tangled. It is a mini obstacle course for the users.

The stairs leading down to the first level are wider and broader to imitate the experience of the gradual and controlled shrinking that Alice went through.
